Zuni Squash Blossom

Cluster-work necklace. Five circular rosettes each hold a domed oval center cabochon plus concentric rows of small round and pear-shaped bezel-set stones in sky to robin's-egg blue, several showing brown-to-black webbed matrix. Twisted rope wire separates the rows; scalloped repousse petal borders carry applied silver drops. Stamped oval silver beads join the panels, and tapered fringe rods tipped with small teardrop stones hang below. Bright polish with oxidation darkening the recesses. Turquoise and sterling silver. One piece, held at the gallery in Santa Fe.
