His father was a professor of foreign languages and Anthony loved to accompany him to Mexico and Central America. During his teen years while living in Philadelphia, he hitchhiked to Woodstock and the West Coast. In college, Anthony studied at Syracuse University in New York and Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIn 1980, the West was calling him to the land of vast blue skies, billowing clouds, brilliant light, and rough terrain. Anthony discovered a growing, supportive art scene in Abilene, Texas where he settled. He and several artists started The Artist League, which is now named The Center for Contemporary Arts. He continues to be an active member and maintains an art studio upstairs.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAnthony frequently travels the Mountain West, usually shooting hundreds of photos. He paints mainly from these photos, cutting them up and collaging them into compositions for his mixed media paintings. He can't get enough of the light, the color, the dramatic scenery, and the vast story of the West.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAnthony is actively involved in Texas art festivals, events, art shows, art galleries, and art groups. He has been represented by galleries in Montana, New Mexico, and Texas.
